ALCINA
The Antarctic Low Cloud Interaction with Natural Aerosol (ALCINA) project is set to begin in November 2026 as an 18-month field campaign studying aerosols and cloud at Palmer Station, Antarctica. The goal is to get long-term in-situ data to learn more about aerosols and clouds in this region, which is currently an evident gap in our knowledge of climate.
PAEROS
The Portable AERosol Observing System (PAEROS) was deployed at Palmer Station in the 2013-2014 austral summer to measure aerosol size and concentration, among many other things. The first part of my thesis is based on this campaign led by Greg Roberts, and we hope to expand the knowledge from this excursion with ALCINA.
